PunyPals is a brand dedicated to creating irresistibly cute yet chaotic plushie pillows, accessories, and more. Featuring an adorable lineup of original characters like Ozzy the Otter, Fergie the Frog, and Dippy the Duckling, PunyPals blends charm and chaos into huggable designs. Known for their iconic screaming expressions, each plushie pillow features a signature wide-open mouth, making them both adorable and hilarious. Whether it’s plushies, accessories, or fun merch, PunyPals is all about cute chaos and cuddly screams! 🐸

Created and designed by myself, PunyPals began with the concept of a signature kawaii yet chaotic design—versatile across multiple products. To bring this vision to life, I developed a wide variety of characters designed to appeal to as many people as possible. From Japan enthusiasts to food lovers and beyond, PunyPals offers something for everyone. The designs are crafted in a simplistic vector art style, allowing me the flexibility to adapt them seamlessly across almost any product. 

Once the core idea was in place, the next step was crafting the brand identity, starting with the logo. Inspired by Kenji, Miniso, and Uniqlo, the logo was designed to feel familiar yet unique. The text itself can resemble the characters’ iconic screaming mouths, which is why the signature eyes are placed above it, tying the entire brand identity together.

From the beginning, I focused on building a strong and engaged community around PunyPals. I collaborated with creators and influencers, allowing more people to discover the brand through authentic content and shared enthusiasm. Through social media interactions, partnerships, and creative promotions, I’ve worked to make PunyPals more than just a brand—it’s a growing community that shares a love for cute chaos and cuddly screams!

SPOOKY FERGIE

Here, I designed a pumpkin-themed marketing asset featuring Spooky Fergie the Frog in a hauntingly festive setting. Created for Halloween, it embraces eerie tones to capture the holiday's spirit and atmosphere.

AI CASE STUDY

I experimented with AI to create a realistic yeti holding Yuri the Yeti. Since AI has imperfections, I refined the image in Photoshop—fixing the AI yeti’s hands, correcting extra fingers, and adjusting unnatural nails. To keep Yuri the focal point, I blurred the AI yeti while keeping the hands in focus. I also added a pile of snow, falling snow, and stylized “Yeti” text. 

DIPPY THE DUCK

This playful and heartwarming video introduces Dippy the Duck. Directed by me, it follows Jenny as she strolls through a serene park, holding Dippy close. From walking by the lake to playfully tossing Dippy into the air, the video highlights Dippy’s gentle and comforting nature. As she relaxes under a tree, Dippy remains by her side—bringing warmth, tranquility, and a touch of nature’s magic.

I have also expanded PunyPals beyond plushie pillows, bringing its cute chaos to new products and experiences. One of my biggest ventures has been River Rascals, a 2-4 player Roguelite-inspired board game where players race down a wild river, navigating whirlpools, reeds, and rival rascals to collect the most fish. With each game offering unique paths and unpredictable events, players must strategize to outmanoeuvre their opponents and reach the sea first.

PunyPals started as a simple idea—a fusion of kawaii charm and chaotic energy—and has grown into a versatile brand with a dedicated community. From carefully crafted characters to strategic collaborations and creative marketing, every step has been driven by a passion for design and bringing joy to others. With endless possibilities for expansion, PunyPals will continue to evolve, delivering cute chaos and cuddly screams to fans worldwide.
